The Turks are masters of the barbecue because this way of cooking has always been part of the traditional way of cooking, thanks to a nomad tradition in the Middle Asia. Mutton and lamb have  a central role in the Turkish kitchen. The animals are used completely, even the most peculiar parts.

    There are two versions when it comes to the  the tale of the dish called ¨The Swooning Imam¨. The first version is the one where the Imam fainted after he ate so much of this heavenly food,
    The second version is the one where the Imam asked his wife to make stuffed eggplants everyday for a month. In the end of the month Imam fainted when he saw how much  the bill for olive oil was.
